Description
At first glace, this rifle comes across as an FX Impact MK II knock-off. Featuring a sizeable magazine capacity like the IMPACT, this rifle however, is not in bullpup configuration - the sizeable self-indexing magazine is loaded in the breech slot cut through the picatinny rail.
Setting aside the comparisons - the rifle is optimized for shooting long distances - 150 easily, unregulated as it is. The generous 23" / 585mm barrel is shrouded and the shroud does not easily remove. It is firmly secured in place. The barrel tip has a thread protector, concealing a 1/2" UNF silencer thread nipple, compatible with the range of silencers we stock. The barrel, should be noted, is free-floating and does not feature a barrel band. Just bear this in mind. Should you later which to convert the barrel to a captured system, you'll need to contact us for a solution, however, be aware that the addition of a barrel band, whilst aiding shot consistency, will alter your barrel's firing harmonics.
Furthermore, this rifle features a metal alloy receiver, 3 point adjustable QUATTRO trigger, 9mm elevated picatinny rail, which is 115mm at the rear and 42mm on the frontal side.
This rifle features receiver-end AR-15 stock threading and should be able to accept AR-15 stocks from UTG, etc. The stock itself is 4 point adjustable and unlike some of the adjustable stocks on the lower end HATSAN PCP rifles, this one has just about zero play on it. The buttplate on the stock is rubberized, faintly curved and is horizontally slitted for better vertical traction. The synthetic cheekpiece is also upwardly adjustable in multiple, closely-spaced increments, being ambidextrous (so lefty-friendly). Near the toe of the stock, there is a downward 45 degree sling slot to loop a sling through, howeever, the frontal side of the rifle only has a 5-slot picatinny rail, whereupon a sling swivel can be mounted or an ARCA rail w/ a sling swivel onto that.
In terms of handling, this rifle's AR-15 style pistol grip is rubberized for ease of handling, however, the rifle does not sport an overtly hefty weight. As for the forward grip - one would need to handle the rifle offhanded by the lopside of the aluminium bottle or attach a foregrip (as illustrated) or affix a bipod onto the base rail to shoot from an artificial rested position.
The cocking lever is a dual pronged, short lever one, allowing for cocking action w/ one's index and middle finger on either side of the lever shaft, for better handling / control of the lever. The vertical finger nubs are about 15mm up and down respectively, protruded from the shaft, which is ample for most peoples' digit width. The cocking lever is spring-loaded, so pulling outwardly on it will cause the lever to 'jump' out if not retained
Power settings:
This rifle is externally adjustable, in that, on the left face of the rifle receiver, three positive selector positions are numerically demarcated, from lowest to highest. On the right hand face of the rifle, the hammer spring is adjustable via a vertically rotating dial. It comes out of the box on its highest setting, however, to get one's pellets to group better, one might need to detune the rifle to 920 FPS atleast. Lighter weight pellets such as your 15 & 13 gr pellets, you'll need to detune your rifle further to 870, perhaps 850 FPS. Slugs however, not suffering from the same sort of aerodynamical deficiency after breaking the sound barrier, can be shot quite decently at 60 meters whilst retaining high ballistic coefficiency.
Filling:
This rifle comes w/ a horizontally installed aluminium tank under and parallel to the barrel. It is a 0.5l tank, with a filling capacity of up to 250 BAR, with a generous 500 cm³ capacity. This should allow you about 100 optimal shots on the rifle's factory settings. Detuning the rifle could permit up to 130, even 150 shots.
The filling probe itself is vertically integrated in under the frontal end of the receiver, whereover the female quick coupler can be attached. The surrounding hole has a generous berth to allow space for the female quick coupler to reach in sufficiently.
Loading and Shooting:
The magazine loads up as the typical self-indexing magazines do - the last round is loaded REVERSE into its appropriate slot w/ the tortion spring completely wound-up, whereafter the other 20 rounds are sequentially / insequentially loaded up. The magazine cover plate is hinged out, the magazine is inserted from right to left and the cocking lever is disengaged, so that the pellet probe will chamber the first round into the breech. Successive shots are discharged by cocking the rifle after each shot, so the rifle does not automatically load, but manually instead. Whilst this does have disadvantages in terms of rate of fire, this system sports several other advantages which makes manual loading more suited for longer distance firing than semi-automatic firing would.
