Centurion Gate Motors, Beams and Spares in South Africa

Centurion is South African built and the most widely installed gate automation brand in the country, which is the practical argument for choosing it. Any installer will know the boards, spares are stocked everywhere, and a failure on a Sunday is a phone call rather than a project. Theft protection is not optional here

Gate motors are stolen regularly in South Africa, which is why Centurion sells anti-theft brackets and theft resistant cages as dedicated products rather than accessories. On a street-facing installation these are worth budgeting for at the same time as the motor. Retrofitting after a theft costs you the motor as well as the cage.

What a complete installation needs

The motor is the start. Safety beams stop the gate closing on a vehicle or a person and should be treated as essential. A 12V 7.2Ah battery keeps the gate running through loadshedding, which is the single most common reason a gate stops working. Racks carry the gate, so match them to gate weight. Additional remotes are cheaper to buy now than to code later.

Common questions

Can I replace the board rather than the motor? Usually yes, and it is far cheaper. The D5 Evo Smart PC board is available on its own, and a failed board is a much more common fault than a failed motor.

Are the beams wired or wireless? Both are stocked. Photon Smart beams are wireless, which saves trenching on a retrofit. Nova i5 beams are the conventional wired option.

Does the motor need oil? The D5, D10 and A10 use a specific gearbox oil, stocked in 80ml. This is a service item rather than a repair, and skipping it shortens gearbox life.

Will a Nova remote work with my older Centurion motor? Check the frequency, since this range is 433MHz and 434MHz. Keep your working original remote until the replacement is confirmed coded.
