The actual colouration applicable to this pistol, would be the Coyote tan (as per the pictures we took ourselves). The FDE is for illustration purposes only.

Excellent replica of the BERETTA 84FS, in this like dual-tone of FDE (Flat Dark Earth) and black.

The pistol handles excellently, certainly has its own standard of quality that doesn't eke after RETAY. We would certainly rank these NIKSAN blank pistols in league w/ the EKOL brand, likewise w/ ZORAKI. However, these pistols do handle different from the two aforementioned gun.

Key Features;

  • Compact pistol w/ lovely gripstocks, grips and feels w/ a bit of heft inside one's hand - would really appeal to those looking a good quality vintage replica pistol
  • 8+1 Magazine capacity, single stack - Allows for a narrowing handle profile. The plastic of the gripstocks along w/ the handle dimensions, just fits really lovely in the hand, w/out the need for finger grooves, scallops or modern ergonomical einnovation - the secret to this is perhaps attributable to the balance / weight distribution factor on the pistol
  • Slide racks very VERY similar to the real deal - Beefy cocking serrations makes it an easy matter to cock the gun, whereas other makes and models replicating the same pistol, racks not quite as positively or provides difficulty in doing so, or features sharp edges that really reduces the ergonomy of the cocking serrations
  • Female threading protector in the muzzle end. Certainly unque
  • Option to release the slide by way of pulling it rearward after locked, on condition that the empty magazine has been removed or a magazine w/ atleast one round loaded is present and fitted up the magwell. To release it otherwise, you'll need to depress the slide catch release lever, which forces the magazine follower downward.
  • Exceptional price tag.
  • 1:1 replica, although despite this, you'll be hard pressed to find a hardshell holster for it, but for replica value in and of itself, you'll be hard pressed to find any better.
  • Stiff magazine spring, ensures positive feeding.

The gripstocks on the pistol is polymer, runs flush w/ the frame in terms of its rounded boundaries. The panels themselves are lightly stippled and the handle width collectively, is about the same as the RETAY 84FS, but of course, no aggressive RETAY-style grip texturing.

The fasteners used to hold these grip stocks in place, are proper cheese head flat-drive screws w/ machine screw threading. The finish on them comes across quite pleasant and cleanly machined.

The safety is frame-mounted, stepped both on top and the bottom at an angle, that corresponds to a person's natural ergonomy, which does make this lever easy to toggle and easy on your thumb. It does positively snap into the FIRE postion and the lever doesn't scratch the finish off the slide. The red FIRE indicator is embossed into the slide, so that friction won't rub it off with time, which is a unique feature. The safety lever likewise when engaged, will capture the slide / prohibit its rearward movement as well as disengaging the trigger from the sear.. This means you'll be able to freely pull the trigger in DA or SA, but it will not toggle the hammer. The safety however, does not physically obstruct the rear of the firing pin.

The cocking serrations are nice and deeply cut, making toggling the slide a real breezee, despite their low profile, which is nice - the opposite is the case w/ the RETAY 84 FS for example, where the serrations are more minimalist, shallower, thinner and isn't too grippy. On this pistol, you have an array of slanted serrations, 45mm in length altogether, which alot of your thumb and index fingers can grapple onto. The EKOL 99 compensates for this by having a slightly looser blowback spring, requiring less cocking force.

Heavier blowback springs have the advantage of pushing more pressure through the barrel, resulting in less and lower temperature pressure pushing out the ejection port - especially useful for pushing high pressure blank cartridges / to optimize the distance of pepper from pepper cartridges discharged.

The barrel end has a femle thread protector that can be threaded out w/ one's bare hand. We cannot confirm at this time if keeping this removed, would negatively impact the pistol's ability to fire semiauto, although our suspicion is that it will not.

The pistol is Single Action as well as Double Action, which is what we've come to expect from all BERETTA hammer fired replicas.

The magazine floorplate is rounded off neat, w/ no forward jut at the base that would normally serve as a firing hand backstop. Likewise, the magazine comes out w/ no resistance, also slips up the magwell w/ no real resistance like you'd find on BLOW and RETAY pistols - we really are quite chuffed w/ this.

The sights are realistic in appearance and when gazed across, you can see that a good margin of precision has been employed in their manufacture, which alot of other blank guns just sports atop as dummy features.

On this pistol, basically the slide os FDE, as are the grip stocks. The frame and controls are all black.

This pistol does otherwise operate nice and cleanly, which many other blank guns for this same price tag, will not offer.

The pistol does field strip similarly to the BLOW P29 and is a relative breeze to put back together as well. This could be done under a minute for most people acquainted w/ different blank guns and firearms.

Ease of Field Strip

7/10.. Some of the blank guns that are replica of modern pistols, field strips easier. Though for an 84 FS replica, this pistol does strip and reassembly back together easily.
- The lever on the RH face of the pistol should be rotated into the 6 'o clock position, withdrawn from the pistol frame completely, thereafter the slide can hitch off the rear.
