KUZEY 911 BLANK GUN - SMOKED W/ WALNUT GRIPS

This is the KUZEY 911 model, featuring a very dandy / quaint-looking smoke finish, complimented by a chrome finish on all the controls as well, as the breech and barrel. The extractor, magazine floorplate and barrel blocker insert is black whilst the gripstocks are genuine Turkish wallnut w/ diamond checkering. The shiny fasteners retaining the gripstocks, also add a bit more niceness to the pistol.

Our overall impression on this pistol's aesthetics are like that of our customers' - jaw dropping and being awe-stricken.

This pistol is a full-sized, beefy looking replica of the COLT 1911 and has a bit of weight to it as well. It features a 5" barrel w/ cocking serrations on the slide both at the rear as well as the front. These are of course quite beefy, angled, w/ sharp edges for ideal traction. The safety operates similarly to thaqt on a COLT 1911 in that, it can only be actuated once the gun is cocked by means of racking the slide or just by cocking the hammer manually.

The backstrap safety is also fully functional - you have to grasp the pistol properly in your hold, pushing this lever in, before you would be able to actuate the trigger. Extending elaborately off of this shape, would be the beaver tail, that forms a cup where against the hammer cocks. The curve shape does add aesthetic to the pistol.

The ejection port is cut out 2/3 of the slide (right and top is open) and akin to all 1911 type pistols, the blowback rod here too is completely absent, which certainly can come across slightly odd.

Your sights certainly aren't to old military specifications, bbut rather incorporates a more modern look / aesthetic w/ higher rise

Unlike some other 911 variants, this pistol doesn't have any goofy aesthetic in front by the slide, aside from a curve cut out the upper half of the slide, though otherwise, the slide, aside from the frontal cocking serrations, does come across a bit more 1911-ish.

The magazine release button has a knurled face w/ a plain cylindrical shape which operates simple enough - no need to go about 'finding' it so to say - it is right within reach and is easily distinguishable by one's thumb pad.

The trigger is skeletized, adding a more modern aftermarket appearance to this pistol.

The slide catch lever, true to COLT 1911 form, does come out for field stripping the pistol - the notch on the slide catch, needs to correspond to that on the slide - there is a small curve on the base of the slide , right behind the actual slide catch notch. Once removed / withdrawn, you can swivel the frontal end off by depressing the knurled button and swiveling the barrel bushing off, which will free your recoil spring plug. Just be sure to catch it along with the recoil spring. As you might notice, there wil a recoil spring guide inside as well which, when removing the slide, you'll need to keep upright, lest it prevents the slide from coming off. If properly stripped, your KUZEY 911 should resemble the illustrated.

Otherwise, our opinion of this pistol is really positive - It does resemble an aftermarket / kitted-out COLT 1911 w/ some custom features and as a blank gun, as well as a collector's piece, we do reccomend this pistol - KUZEY's 911 lineup certainly have prove themselves reliable.
