This pistol we specifically brought in for those JAMES BOND / PIERCE BROSNAN 007 fans.
Please note that the Walther PPK illustrated here is for informational purposes only, to show you the closeness in resemblance this pistol has to said gun.
Certainly a nice little pistol, especially being an Italian-made replica of the timeless WALTHER PPK .380 ACP (9x17mm), which the magazine buttplate on this pistol gives a nod to.
As you can see, the round button, although high, is used both to release the slide as well as eject the magazine, similar to how alot of other subcompact blank guns operate. You have your mildly diamond-checkered gripstocks, both of which swell out a little to compensate for masculine hand sizes. The magazine buttplate is curved and does serve in a way as a floor-stop for your grasp, to counteract the pistol slipping from sweaty palms.
The cocking serrations on the slide are on the rear of the slide only, eleven of them to be exact. The blowback spring isn't too stiff, so the slide does rack w/ some relative ease. The safety lever here isn't ambidextrous, featuring only on the left face of the gun. It has a set of five stacked serrations for easier toggling.
The slide has a wee-bit of play, which for a blank gun is more advantageous as it is then a bit more forgiving toward being a dirty. This should also allow you to cycle through your gun, hot or cold, w/ minimal issues.
The pistol is automatic single action and field strips very similar to how a WALTHER PPK does.
The sights are good replica features, although are featureless, having no fibre optic inlays, tritium or otherwise painted dots.
On the right face of the pistol, you have your "CIP - N" stamp, certifying that this pistol has been certified by the "Commission Internationale Permanente pour l'Epreuve des Armes à Feu Portatives" or "Permanent International Commission for Firearms Testing"
The "N" stands for "Normal Shelling" , that is smokeless powder, both of which appears next to the emblem of the CIP testing house in Gardone, Italy.
As most people already know, the PM (Pistolyet Makarova) is a Soviet copy of this pistol, so those looking for a MAKAROV type blank gun, could opt for this one or the SUR 2004, though neither of them has the magazine release behind the magazine buttplate.
