The Hatsan Blitz BP (Bullpup) select-fire pre-charged pneumatic air rifle is the next generation in the line of the world's first fully-automatic airgun (The BLITZ range. Note also that this is the manufacturer's claim). The Blitz has a newly designed SwingLoad rotary magazine (21 shot in .22, a method which operates similar in principle to a magazine coupler like you'd have on an AR-15. Except here you have an interlocking set of male and female dovetail rails that fit onto one another to couple the disc-shaped magazines together. In this manner, once you one magload is dumped, you can retract the bolt into its rearward lock position, withdraw the magazine from the breech and insert the other magazine coupled to the latter. Thereafter, drop the bolt and you're ready with your next payload!)

You also have a fully-shrouded 23" QuietEnergy barrel, although the shroud altogether from the breech measures 27". The 4" not accounted for, is compressed w/ a torsion spring.

The length here is identical to that on the previous itreration of the BLITZ, but w/out the same overall length on the rifle - The entirety of the rifle action is just brought rearwards and the breech placed behind the handle, which of course, defines a bullpup rifle.

Simply fill the non-removable 580cc carbon fiber bottle to 250 BAR while watching the color-coded integral manometer on the bottom of the rifle and you’ll have enough air for 100+ shots at optimal velocity (caliber dependent). Even w/ a compressor, this will take some time. We certainly do not recommend utilizing a handpump to pressurize the tank on this rifle, as it will take about one hour to fill. Not really worth it if you intend on shooting your magazines through fully automatic one after the other. For this purpose, please consult our listings for a scuba tank or a HPA compressor.

In terms of open sights - here we have another slight setback compared to the BLITZ - there is no carry handle w/ integrated sights, only a dedicated HATSAN styled broken dovetail rail, where slot interruptions would accomodate the cross-bolt on weaver mount rings. Normally we recommend using weaver mounting, as the clamps here provides a greater / more confident clamping base. The rail here is elevated about 20 MOA and the rail is completely optic-dedicated, w/ no breech slot segregation you need to factor into consideration. Nice thing about this rail strip, is that it is completely metal / alloy CNC milled, so it is precision manufactured, giving you consistency in your mounted optics, if you use weaver mount rings, meaning that if you remove a zeroed-in optic, the zero-in should be retained if you re-mount your optic in the same slots. The cheekpiece in conjunction with this, has a marked seven stages of adjustability, which can be performed tool-lessly, simply by loosening the serrated screw on the right face of the rifle, elevated -or de-elevating the cheekpiece, then tightening this screw up. The seven height options possible are numerically marked for reference.

The pistol grip on the rifle is a nice AR-15 type, with pinstripe grooves and mild texturing comprising its entire face on both sides. It is furthermore rubber moulded, so as to 'squish' into your grasp and allow for a more confident grasp. The rubbe rused here is very tacky and would even tact proper to a sweaty palm.

The trigger blade is steel as is the small horizontal barrel shaped safety right in front of it, that toggles easily back and forward into FIRE and SAFE modes, indicated on the right face of the rifle, on the stock just above the trigger.

On the frontal most end of the stock, you have an underbarrel Picatinny rail, polymer, w/ three slots. Here you can mount your flashlight, laser or just a Picatinny-mounted bipod. The frontal end here has debossed strips for better grip, although for ergonomy, if you intend on using this rifle in standing position, then you'll likely hold the rifle by the tank.

The buttplate likewise, can be adjusted up and down, by means of threading the steel machine screw at the rear out, which you'll need to use an allen key for. Just in front of the buttplate, you'll have an angled sling slot moulded in the stock, which has a beefy cross-section which should hold up to heavier duty application. For the frontal mounting point of the sling, we recommend attaching a Picatinny sling adapter to the understock Picatinny strip, which we stock as well.

Also on the left face of this rifle, you'll have the magazine winder key that slots into the stock. To remove it, you simply need to turn it from its 3 'o clock position, to its 5 'o clock, whereafter you should be able to pull it from the stock w/ a bit of wiggling. Just be careful not to loose this tool as we cannot guarentee you an OEM spare.

Our overall opinion of this rifle is exceedingly positive - it is in its own league, has impressive muzzle velocity capable of notable penetration. We've had customers who reported to us that they lobbed pellets with this rifle at 80 meters and managed to hit their mark, although it wasn't a small target, but the shot nevertheless proved lethal.

Its short enough to take around in the bakkie / pickup truck with you and just as easy to deploy from the driver seat, although, certainly not as manoeuverable for example, the way an ARTEMIS P15 / P35 is. This rifle likewise IS silencer compatible - you'll just need a DONNYFL silencer adapter for this. Please contact us in this regard if interested.
