This is a nice and beefy hack knife in tanto format w/ a positive-feeling rubber overlay on the handle, checkered w/ tiny deboss hexagons on the panels. The rear and front features fine horizontal grooves - all of which squishes nice and snug in one's fist when grappling the handle. The finger guard forms part of the rubber blow mould. The handle is slim and mostly rectangularly shaped, w/ the exception of the flaree / skirting at the base, which helps counteract downward slippage of one's hand. At the base here as well, there is a grommet insert, which is likely intended for thronging through a lanyard / making a parachord lanyard.

Holding this knife, one gets the impression of brandishing a knife form of a katana - the blade itself is rearwardly curved, lending this same slight rearward arch to the working end of the knife, which makes this legendary style of blade so effective for cutting through solid objects.

The end has a tanto edge, basically a sharp end by the false edge, bevelling downward at about 45° to the blade edge. This angular end is likewise sharpened, w/ its own chisel grind - Please bear this in mind when sharpening the TANTO edge, that you don't round off the bevel.

We strongly recommend this as an in-field utility, useful for combat both in terms of slicing as well as stabbing, notwithstanding as a light prying tool. Not really suited for dedicated outdoor / survivalist use, as this is just an imitation knife.

The scabbard is PP and the knife fits loosely into it. There is a strip of nylon webbing that binds from the base of the scabbard, around the hilt of the knife, then connects to itself by means of stud-coupling. This is the only reliable retention on this knife.
The backing behind the hilt is folded webbing, stud-coupled as well, making it possible to belt-carry this knife.

Moreover, due to the rivet holes along the boundary of the scabbard, you can throng parachord through it and affix it this way onto a MOLLE panel. We recommend using these instead of the oblong slots, as these are metal re-inforced.

You could always improve the holster's ability to retain the knife by pressing / gluing cardbox insets into the scabbard or using some other method of spacers.
